A Nia class with Megan is the best therapy — no analytical talking, no discomfort, just powerfully to the core issues, just joyful, spontaneous release and acceptance.  Nia brings me more in touch with my body…than anything else.

— Sheila Schueller, Ann Arbor

A Nia class with Megan is fun.  I know I’m getting a workout because I’m covered with sweat and my heart is pumping, but I really just feel like I’m having fun — like a girl’s night out!

— Sara Ross

I have been taking NIA classes with Megan two or three times a week for two years. Her energy and enthusiam are infectious and her students look forward to every class. Because of her strong background in dance, Megan is able to tailor movements to the level of individual students, allowing everyone a satisfying experience. By giving of herself 100% every class, Megan always inspires me to achieve my personal best.

— Noel Winkler, Ann Arbor

This is the most fun I’ve ever had working out…and now I’m much more fun at wedding receptions!

Megan is such a generous teacher, focusing on the health and well-being of the whole body inside & out!  I am both energized and rooted by her Nia class.

I started thinking about taking Nia after my diagnosis with FMS (Fibromyalgia Syndrome) – an acute central nervous system disabillity characterized by chronic pain of muscles and joints, fatigue, migraine headaches, and auto-immune disorder — several years ago.  I was finally strong enough to begin taking it regularly, usually once a week for an hour this last fall.

Megan as a Nia teacher and her classes – both the gentle version and the regular appealed to me because she was very receptive to different levels of ability among her students and presented the choreography in encouraging, enthusiastic, and accessible ways.  I love that her class is woman-centered and inspires joy in and gratitude to the body.  Mine is a constant source of misery to me, but in Megan’s class I am able to embrace it and feel good about being to do as much movement, and at whatever level of intensity, as I can.  I even forget the pain for sime time…which is the greatest gift in my situation.

I recommend the Nia classes and Megan as their instructor very much.  Even for healthy women, as we age and either struggle with our bodies’ aging, or accept it in stride, it is important to have a safe space to unleash the dancing crone, sprite, feminist, and, yes, butch and powerful goddess, whatever incarnation makes out day and bod better.

Thanks a lot, Megan!

I love Megan’s class!  It feels so free, and joyful, to move without judgement — to be in a class where everyone is supported – and to just have so much fun moving and dancing!  It’s almost like being a kid again!  When class is over, you know you not only had a good work out, but even better, you are in such a great mood!  Thank you so much Megan!

Megan has been my Nia teacher since 2008 when she introduced me to the practice.  With Nia, I am able to just “be” in my body and move  in ways that feel right for me in the moment. Megan really sets the tone for moving your body’s way.  Because of Nia, I feel stronger, more nimble and agile.  Thank you Megan!
